Opinions on Mixes

It’s always good to have an extra pair (or 100) of ears to listen to your mix down. Share your tracks here with the community, and see what others think of it and what suggestions they have!

This is the album I have out currently. It’s been out for about a year, not performing very well and I liked it when I first published, but every time I listen to it I find more things I don’t like about it.

 Part of me is proud to have put out an album, but now another part of me is weary about sending people to it as a reference of my music if it isn’t good enough.

I’m not sure if I’m just being my own worst critic or of it’s actually bad. I don’t trust my family to be honest about it either. They say they like it but I feel like it’s by default. :woman_shrugging:t3:

Hey! You should be 100% proud!

What is your gut feeling and what is what you want to achieve from here?

I just feel like I could do so much better. Provoke more feeling, add dynamics and contrast etc. It also feels more right to just be me acoustic with my ukulele.

Adding the guitar, and background vocals and all that almost make it feel fake? I’m not sure if that makes sense. I kind of want to redo it all acoustic by myself rather than with a producer.

Also thinking if I can put out more & better music it will casually push that into the background rather than being my portfolio so to speak.

Then I think that’s your answer, as at the heart of it you need to be happy and confident with what you’re doing and that it fully represents you and what you want to put into the world

Put it down to experience! You never know when someone else may love the older stuff though
