Introduction Corner

Hi there! I’m Michelle. I’ve been told my music is a little Kate Bush/Tori Amos/Regina Spektor-ish, although that wasn’t intentional. I’m just me and it’s my own sound.

I would like to get my confidence up to perform locally (I’m used to singing in public but have never played piano in public before. I just recently taught myself to help with song writing).

I am in touch with a producer and hope to get my songs recorded and produced soon, released and also sing live, perhaps initially to a backing track so I can focus on the vocal, tell stories and connect with the audience instead of worrying about the piano playing. But it would be nice to be able to play too.

Production and release is the immediate goal. I would LOVE to have a song in sync.

Hi guys, I’m Synn

I make a blend of metal ranging from thrash/death metal through to nu/industrial sounds.

I’m currently the vocalist/guitarist and main song writer for my band “manipulated”
as well as my own solo music

I also help run my partners farm when not writing music, my down time is spent with our 40+ sheep (who needs the gym)

Hi there!

My name is Honey Ribar and I am a Christian Pop artist from Minneapolis, MN. My short term goal is to reach a larger audience with my new song coming out next week. Long term goals are to maintain my sobriety so I can keep on this amazing path of making music and pursuing my life long passion.
Appreciate you all and looking forward to connecting!

Howdy, I’m James and based in Frankston, just south east of Melbourne, Australia.

I’ve been a filmmaker for the last 25 years working as a director, editor and visual effects artist on movies, music videos and commercials. But the whole time my favourite part was dealing with the music, working with composers, telling bands (to blank faces) how their track could be better, listening to hundreds of tracks to find just the right piece and in the back of my mind wishing I could just be writing music and singing :man_shrugging:

Well I’ve never been one to leave a dream un-attempted. So I’ve spent the last 18 months, learning to sing, play the piano and use Logic Pro and the last 6 months putting together my first album.

I guess I would class my music as emotional alternative rock that deals with a range of topics like mental health issues, grief, and the sorry state of the world (you know, happy stuff :smirk:) And I gotta say, it’s absolutely amazing being on the other side.

I’m yet to release my first track as I wanted to get several of them recorded first and have been taking my time enjoying the journey and exploring the art form. But the time is soon approaching so figured it was time to start figuring out this marketing stuff.

The sheer amount of content here looks incredible (and a little overwhelming). Being autistic, I’ve always struggled with the social side of things, in real life and online, but I 100% know I can make this crazy idea work with the right guidance.

So excited to be diving in now :hugs:

Hi everyone!

I’m The O.O., an indie singer/songwriter from the Isle of Wight UK

I’ve literally just become a member about 10 minutes, really excited to begin my journey!

I take influences from bands like the kooks, the libertines and the view and my debut single is set for release on the 16th of February. I’ve been writing and recording songs for a few years but haven’t been brave enough to share it. This is my year! :muscle:t3:

I’ve got a YouTube channel where I posted my very first mini music video short yesterday and am planning on posting shorts each day in the build up to my release. I’m going to begin the roadmap to 1 million streams course now!

Just thought I’d say hello!

Hi @JamesCole

As you’re a filmmaker would you mind watching my first two YouTube shorts and letting me know if they look ok?

They’re clips from what will be my first music video once I release my first single, so if you could possibly look past the shorts themselves and check out the setting and angles of the shots?

Any sort of feedback would be much appreciated! Let me know if you’re happy to check them out and I’ll link my YouTube channel

Cheers!

Hey! I’m also a very introverted person in everyday life, but love expressing myself through music, so I’m completely with you on that!

Music is so amazing as a way of expression isn’t it, I love it!

Hi everyone!

I joined the academy to help someone by acting as their manager, as they don’t have time for anything other than making music.

We’ve accomplished several goals, including reaching 100,000 streams on Spotify, securing placement on curator playlists in Pandora, being included in private curator lists on Spotify, and seeing our song streaming numbers surge to 10,000 within a week of release. Currently, we’re in search of music synchronization agents to help us offer our music to filmmakers. I’d greatly appreciate Damian’s assistance with this endeavor if he could take the lead!:pray:

Hi, I am a Christian Artist from the Poconos, PA. I mostly write/release Christian Worship originals and covers, yet have released a song about 9/11/01 and an electro-pop love song to/for my husband.

My short term goals are to connect with other musicians in my genre, introduce myself to people who have not heard my music, and not being too perfect with my day to day content to get it out there. I can be a perfectionist.

My long term goal is to continue writing and releasing originals each year.

An interesting fact about me is that I have had 2 kidney transplants. My latest one was in 2018 and I am doing well!

Hi,

My name is DILAN SKIES! I make Pop/RnB music with comparisons ranging from the weekend, Chase Atlantic & of course Justin Bieber who I haven’t been able to shake off since my chipmunk voice phase as a teen haha.

My short term goal is to reach 10,000 monthly listeners, this year I have hit 6.8k but it quickly decreased after my new release was no longer so new. My long term goal is to write a song that hits the chart as my dream is to be an established songwriter!

Hello, everyone. I’m Kwesi Hughes (professionally known as George Hughes), a rock singer-songwriter. I work on my music under the band/ project name “Mere Clay.”

  • I would describe my style as angst-rock.
  • My short-term goal is to try and get some traction by placing in the top 3 of a notable songwriting competition. My long-term goal is to find my “community” of music consumers who identify with what I’m trying to communicate through my music
  • Interesting fact about me is that in my late twenties, for two to three years, I was part of a Tibetan Buddhist group in London which used to meet weekly to meditate and to discuss Buddhist teaching and practice. Also, I am a massive Hendrix fan.

Hope to engage with as many fellow-members as we can mutually handle going forwards!
