About Enemy
This is an upcoming release “Enemy”, you are the biggest hurdle in your own life (because of complacency, perfectionism, negativity, etc), once you can overcome that hurdle, you can do anything you put your mind to.
It took 2 years
Last I See was the final project I was really proud of, but the mixing wasn’t that good, so then when working on I Only Trust Myself, I outsourced the mixing process. But it wasn’t 100% what I wanted. So for Enemy, I wanted to do it myself and I almost gave up because I felt I just couldn’t do it. I saw 3 options:
- give up on Enemy (and probably music as a whole, cause what point making a song if you can’t get past mixing to release it)
- outsource the mixing
- get guidance: I asked a friend that produces if she was willing to help out in a less traditional way: I ask for feedback, she gives it and tells me how to apply it, I do it, this way I’ve learned a lot and understood more of what I was doing and why, I learned about certain issues and different ways of solving them.
There will probably still be minor changes (like I think the vocals in the second chorus might be a bit louder, and I don’t think the guitar and piano are audible there) but all by all, this is what it sounds like.
