Cost per follower?

Hey everyone,

I’m wondering what is considered to be a decent cost per follower for conversion campaigns?

I know it may vary according to the type of audience etc. But at least a range would be great to know if I should optimize like crazy or if I’m in a good place already.

If you’re willing to share your experience, it would be awesome.

Thank you!

Hey Nizar!

Great question…

I would be aiming (after optimising) for $0.05 per follower, and converting one in 3, so your CPC would be $0.15

Hey Damian, thanks a lot for the response!

But wait… There’s something I’m missing in your numbers.

I’m currently at around 0.15 € CPC - cost per click on the button (in my landing page) that sends people to my Spotify.
If I convert 1 in 3 persons who reach my Spotify into a follower, then the cost per follower would be 0.45 € (x3 more than my CPC).

How is your cost per new Spotify follower ($0.05) x3 less than your cost per click?

What am I misunderstanding here?

Ahh you didn’t mention Spotify - sorry I thought you meant through to Instagram.

With the numbers, apologies I meant $0.05 a click to get $0.15 for a follower on Instagram.

Spotify isn’t really set up for followers to be honest… think about how many artists you follow on Spotify. It’s pretty hard to get people follow against other platforms in general.

So I think on Spotify that metric would be far higher - I wouldn’t focus on Spotify follows, I’d follow the metrics on the streams

My bad, I didn’t mention “Spotify”, but actually I tried to edit the title afterwards but I couldn’t, looked like a bug.

Anyway, that’s awesome, thanks a lot for the feedback, it helps a lot!
I just managed to reach 0.04 € a click in my traffic campaign, so I know I’m on the right track!

I’ve been running lots of tests the past months, and I also managed to have the CPC on my conversion campaigns targeting a cold audience to get them on Spotify (I know you don’t recommend it but I’ve been trying it a while back already) to 0.13 € - which isn’t bad I think. Looking forward to target a warm audience the same way and see that cost drop further

Thanks again Damian!

No worries at all bro!

That’s a great CPC so deffo on the right track!

Cold audiences can work well - for me it’s all about testing, as for some cold audiences may perform better! It’s so hard to predict so that’s why testing is so important
